services in Nova Scotia. As with all medical services,
maintaining client confidentiality is very important.
All of the services listed below

Provides safe and effective
detoxification from substances of abuse; education; counselling;
and recovery planning to assist clients in achieving a healthy
lifestyle. In-patient and day patient services are available.

Methadone Treatment Services |

Provides immediate support and
access to treatment - no waiting lists, no referral required.
Orientation Sessions are held every Tuesday & Thursday morning
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Education Sessions take place every
morning. Treatment Groups are available every afternoon, Monday
to Friday; Education & Family Programs are available in the
evenings. Matrix Women's Services provides workshops through
CORE and the Halifax CCSS office.

Counselling and Community Support Services |
Available to anyone who has been
affected by their own or others' misuse of alcohol, other drugs,
or gambling.
Satellite offices are located throughout Capital Health in
Dartmouth (Simpson Hall, NSH site), Spryfield (Captain William
Spry Centre), Sackville (Cobequid Community Health Centre),
Windsor (Hants Community Hospital), Musquodoboit Harbour (Twin
Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Valley (Musquodoboit Valley
Memorial Hospital), and Sheet Harbour (Eastern Shore Memorial
Hospital). Orientation sessions are held regularly. Call for
times.

Tobacco
Intervention Program |
Provides treatment services for
those interested in stopping their use of tobacco products.

Prevention and Community Education |
Delivers a comprehensive range of
services throughout the region. Resource staff provide
individuals, groups, communities, schools, and professionals
with information, education and training programs.
Provides treatment services for
13-19 year-olds including day & residential programs,
out-patient services and parent programs, and is part of the IWK.
